Enroll at Patriot Applied Learning Campus
Patriot Enrollment Process Overview
Patriot Applied Learning Campus does not discriminate on the basis of disability, race, creed, color, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, religion, ancestry, need for special education services, or any other grounds prohibited by law. Patriot serves students with disabilities and English Learners and provides services to students as required by state and federal law. Patriot is a choice enrollment school. Although we think we are the best option, this change should not be made without due diligence and that the choice feels right for both parents and students. Students are chosen through the combined input of students, parents, counselors, and administration at Patriot High School. They are admitted on a needs and numbers basis, with the final decision coming from Patriot.
Step 1. Visit Patriot
- Our first step toward applying is to invite all potential new students, parents, and families on to our campus
- Families/students can attend an organized Meet and Greet, schedule an individual tour, or sign up for a student shadow for half a day
- These opportunities will provide a more in-depth picture of what Patriot is about and ensure it is the right fit for your educational needs
Step 2. Complete the Application
- If Patriot seems like a good fit for your student:
- For D49 Students: Submit the school of choice application through your Parent Portal under Forms>26/27 School of Choice Application
- For Non-D49 Students: Register through the link below, selecting Patriot under School of Choice.
Step 3. Intake Meeting
- You will be contacted by the Patriot Registrar to set up an intake meeting to learn more about PHS with administrators and counselors. Students who are accepted will then receive an acceptance letter from PHS with additional instructions and a targeted start date.

Special Education Services for Special Populations at Patriot
Like all choice schools, Patriot Applied Learning Campus is a public school. Patriot serves students with disabilities and English Learners and provides services to students as required by state and federal law. Choice schools are subject to all federal and state laws and constitutional provisions prohibiting discrimination on the basis of disability, race, creed, color, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, religion, ancestry, need for special education services, and certain other grounds. Laws applicable to students with disabilities include the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504), and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). In most cases, the services required by a student with disabilities can be provided by Patriot.
In some cases, a student's individual needs require that they be placed in a different program or location as determined by an IEP or Section 504 team. Under IDEA, students with disabilities are entitled to a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE). The services a student requires under IDEA are described in an Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Under Colorado law, the provision of FAPE and specific services required by a student's IEP are a joint responsibility of the charter school and their authorizer, in most cases the local school district. Applicants to Patriot are not required to identify whether the applicant has an IEP and the school admits students without considering a student's disability. After a student with an IEP is initially enrolled in the school, an IEP team meeting may be required to determine whether this school is an appropriate placement for the student based on their needs. In some circumstances, a student's individual needs require that they be placed in a different program or location. The Application for the 26/27 Year Patriot Culinary and Construction Program is Open!
Tuesday, February 3rd at 10:00 a.m.
Students can access these programs through any District 49 school or as a Patriot student. These programs tend to fill quickly, so families are encouraged to plan ahead and be ready to apply when the application opens. The application will be available through the CTE website and can be accessed at any time once it goes live.
